Pay: $23 per hour, based on experience

Reports to: Director of Community Impact and Development
Additional Information: Must be available on September 26, 2026 for Ya Gotta Regatta. Additional hours may be availability based on interest and program needs.
Responsibilities
Event Operations
- Lead Access-Ability sailing events every other Saturday and additional adaptive events as scheduled.
- Review volunteer and participant lists on Fridays and prepare for Saturday events.
- Arrive 30 minutes before volunteers to set up equipment and dock space.
- Conduct pre-event volunteer muster, including safety briefing and role assignments.
- Run the event dockside and on land, ensuring smooth flow throughout the morning.
Participant & Volunteer Support
- Ensure the safety, dignity, and comfort of all participants.
- Support volunteers with tasks including:
- Greeting participants and caregivers
- Escorting participants to boats
- Boarding and disembarking sailors
- Pushing off and catching boats at the dock
- Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers during the event.
Program Coordination
- Provide post-event summaries and relevant feedback to the Seasonal Program Manager (or designated staff).
- Support adaptive sailing components of special events, including Hansas and Sonars at Ya Gotta Regatta
- Assist with Hansa Race Team practices, depending on interest and availability.
Qualifications
- Strong interest in working with people of varying physical and cognitive abilities.
- Commitment to following safety protocols and adaptive best practices.
- Physically able to walk, stand for long periods, and carry equipment.
- Patient, kind, organized, and comfortable multitasking.
- Sailing experience not required; training provided as needed.
- Physical Therapy and/or Occupational Therapy experience preferred.
Training Provided
- DSC event protocols and safety standards
- Adaptive boarding and transfer techniques
- Rigging and de-rigging Hansas
- Dock procedures (pushing off, catching boats)
- Introductory sailing lesson (if needed)
