two sailors on a J22 sailboat in the harbor at sunset

The Downtown Sailing Center (DSC) is the place to enjoy sailing and meet people who love to sail. Members hail from many backgrounds; The DSC focuses on making sailing fully inclusive and diverse. Memberships are inexpensive because members contribute through sweat equity and community engagement.

All members, regardless of creed, background, ability, or membership level are equally important to the health of our organization. The price increases for "Skipper" and "Crew" as we move into summer; the price is cheap in the winter because our members freshen up the boats each spring.

Skippers have full access to all of our daysailors once they demonstrate basic sailing and full safety competency (must be able to perform a US Sailing prescribed person overboard rescue): J/22s, Sonars, Freedoms, Hansa-Access Dinghies, and Kayaks.

Crew level members have access to skipper the Hansa Dinghies and the Kayaks. Crew level members also receive discounts on lessons and can gain experience in the member sails.

Racing and Cruising upgrades are also available, so if you are a "cruising sailor" or a "racer," please feel free to check out those member upgrades. If you have any questions at all, please send us an email at info@downtownsailing.org.
