We are, at this time, unable to train new volunteers due to safety concerns for COVID-19. It is our sincere hope that we may be able to expand the program in 2022.
Please review the Adaptive sailing protocol before committing to this program: https://www.downtownsailing.org/resources/Documents/Membership/Adaptive%20Sailing%20Protocol%202020.pdf
If you have any further questions about this program, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Again, thank you for your commitment to providing adaptive Sailors an opportunity to have access to sailing!
This is a no-cost, volunteer-run program that allows individuals with disabilities to experience the freedom of sailing and learn to sail.
The boat we offer is a "Hansa Access Dinghy," which is a small one- to two-person sailboat specifically designed for people with limited mobility. They are easy to sail and can be sailed solo, or with a family member or friend.
This year, due to COVID-19 concerns, we are unable to provide volunteer sailing buddies, but we sincerely hope to be able bring them back to this program in 2022.
Please be sure to carefully review our 2020 Safety Protocol and event schedule prior to your commitment to sailing with us:
