Thank you for volunteering for the DSC's Access-ability Saturday sailing sessions. They cannot be run without volunteer support and commitment, and we truly appreciate you!

The day will begin at 9:00 AM to rig and splash the Hansa Access Dinghies. Sailing participants will arrive at 10:00AM and sail until approximately 12:00 PM. The day will finish by 1:30PM.

The DSC needs volunteers to fill the following positions:
    • 2 Escorts
    • 5 people to Rig and de-rig Hansa Access Dinghies
    • 2 Safety boat operators/coaches
**Everyone who wishes to participate must wear a mask at all times while on campus and on the docks. Mouth and nose must be covered.**

We are, at this time, unable to train new volunteers due to safety concerns for COVID-19. It is our sincere hope that we may be able to expand the program in 2022.

Please review the Adaptive sailing protocol before committing to this program:

This is a no-cost, volunteer-run program that allows individuals with disabilities to experience the freedom of sailing and learn to sail.

Sailors come to the Downtown Sailing Center (DSC) and are coached and often assisted by a tireless group of volunteers, friends and family. Sailing time will be from 10:00am until 12:00pm.

The boat we offer is a "Hansa Access Dinghy," which is a small one- to two-person sailboat specifically designed for people with limited mobility. They are easy to sail and can be sailed solo, or with a family member or friend.

This year, due to COVID-19 concerns, we are unable to provide volunteer sailing buddies, but we sincerely hope to be able bring them back to this program in 2022.

**Everyone who wishes to participate must wear a mask at all times while on campus and on the docks. Mouth and nose must be covered.*

Please be sure to carefully review our 2020 Safety Protocol and event schedule prior to your commitment to sailing with us:
