DSC Racing Open House
An opportunity to learn about racing and foster community among DSC members!
Curious about Thursday Night Racing (TNR) but not sure where to start? Join the TNR Members for a hands-on Racing Clinic on Thursday, June 26 at 5 PM. This event is designed specifically for non-racing members who want to dip their toes into the world of racing in a fun, supportive, and educational environment. You'll learn the basics of race starts, tactics, boat handling, and on-the-water communication. Whether you're looking to crew, skipper, or just understand what racing is all about, this is a perfect opportunity to build skills and confidence. Meet other sailors, get out on the water, and discover the thrill of friendly competition. No prior racing experience is required—just bring your curiosity and a readiness to learn. Come see what racing at the DSC is all about!
This event is open to DSC members only. Registration is required to ensure we have enough boats.
Racers, please register your team if you want to participate! The skipper should register, and you're committing to bringing ONE crew from your team, we'll assign you two additional crew from the participant list.
Fine print for race teams - The Race Skipper should be a seasoned TNR racing skipper and will be in charge of the boat for the night. The Race Skipper does not need to drive the entire time, but should be within arm's length of the tiller and will be required to ensure that racing rules are followed and that there is no contact with other boats.
In addition to the racing spaces, we have openings for Race Committee - 3 for experienced TNR sailors to run Race Committee, and 3 spaces for those looking to come out on a powerboat and learn the basics of organizing the RC equipment, setting a course and putting out the marks, running the racing and tracking scores.
