INTERMEDIATE: (Ages 10-16), 2 Week Program
Intermediate Programming: From Crewmember to Skipper
Our Intermediate program is a dynamic two-week course designed to help campers transition from crewmembers to confident skippers. Campers will gain the skills needed to sail a J22 with a counselor providing guidance from a nearby coaching powerboat.
Week One: The first week focuses on sailing with an instructor onboard. Campers will dive into advanced sail trim, crew responsibilities (including spinnaker work), and skipper fundamentals such as docking, Person-in-Water recovery drills, and heaving-to.
Week Two: In the second week, campers will apply their skills by sailing independently, without an instructor onboard. Coaches will observe and guide from a nearby powerboat as campers master intermediate techniques such as roll-tacking, spinnaker sets, basic racing strategies, sailing backwards, and steering without a rudder.
Prerequisite: To enroll in the Intermediate program, campers must have successfully completed a beginner-level course from a reputable sailing institution.

We look forward to seeing your camper take the helm this summer!
