Access-Ability Event: Johns Hopkins Ataxia Center (Private Event)

Registration

  • This registration is for those interested in sailing in a Hansa 303 Dinghy. These are 1- to 2-person adapted boats. Please arrive no later than 9:45am.
  • This registration is for those interested in sailing in a Hansa Access 303 Dinghy. These are 1- to 2-person adapted boats. Please arrive no later than 10:45am.
  • You will be sailing with a skipper and one crew. We encourage everyone to take a turn at the helm! Please arrive no later than 9:45am.

This is a private Adaptive Sailing event for the Johns Hopkins Ataxia Center.

We have 2 sailing times:

10:00 AM to 11:00 AM,

or 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Please note your arrival and sailing time upon registering. 

The boats we offer:

  • Hansa Access 303 Dinghy- a one- to two-person sailboat specifically designed for people with limited mobility or require trunk support. They are easy to sail, perfect for learning and can be sailed solo, or with a family member or friend. You will receive coaching assistance on the water from a power boat. 
  • Freedom 20 keelboat- You will sail with a skipper and 1 crew, and we encourage you to take a turn at the helm! 
  • Sonar 23 keelboat-this boat is easily adapted and boasts a roomy cockpit for comfort. This boat can accept groups of up to 4, and will sail with a skipper and 1 crew. We encourage you to haul a line or two and take a turn at the helm! .

Hoyer lift transfer assistance is available for boarding/disembarking any of our boats. We will provide all safety equipment, including life jackets.

Be sure to bring a reusable water bottle, a hat and pre-applied sunscreen.

Any participant is required to fill out and sign our liability waiver PRIOR to the event.
