Registration

  • Check and replace (as needed) luff slides on Sonar mainsails
  • The RS Fevas are used for our Siebel Sailors Program. Though the boats are plastic, a couple solid coats of wax on the hulls will keep the grime and slime off them.

The waxing is the easy part... but turning the boats on their side does take physical effort: volunteers will need to work together to wash, then wax the bottoms of the boats which may require tipping them on their sides.

4 volunteers needed; with 4 volunteers, the volunteer task will take roughly 4 hours to complete
  • Visionaries and Problem Solvers Welcome!

The DSC purchased outdoor carpet to help protect our Hansa Access Dinghies. Volunteers will need to use creative problem solving to determine the best way to orient and attach the outdoor carpet to the docks via battens, screws, tacks, etc.

This project should take one afternoon to complete with 6 people working to solve the challenge.
  • The DSC has new kayaks and wants your help to build the second rack (and complete a few details on the first.

Volunteers will need to be comfortable and familiar with using a chisel, drill, construction adhesive, and other hand tools. This is a hands-on, construction project for medium-highly skilled builders.

It is a 2-4 person project that will take roughly 8 total hours to build.
  • Safety First!

We need at least 2 volunteers to go around The DSC docks and mark all of the cleats and raised objects with yellow paint to reduce the likelihood of tripping on them.

With a couple hundred cleats or more on the docks, expect this two person project to take roughly 4 total hours. Accepting up-to two (2) teams of 2 for this project.

Spraying the paint is easy but masking requires a second set of hands: volunteers for this project should be detail oriented and meticulous.
  • Screw in the Kayak Paddle Box and hang a seat-clip clothesline
  • "BLUE," The Freedom 20 The DSC uses in its adaptive sailing lessons, is in need of spring commissioning.

Volunteer to compound & wax the topsides and sand & paint the bottom. Thank you for your volunteerism!
