Join the DSC to kickoff the new season. Our boats are in need of some TLC. We are pulling the bulk of our fleet out of the water for the month of March to get them primed and ready for sailing in April.
Primary tasks will be sanding and scraping bottoms, cleaning, polishing, and waxing topsides, and painting bottoms with anti-fouling paint. Secondary tasks will include replacing bow fenders and broken hardware.
Tentative schedule for main tasks:
10:00- 10:15 AM - Safety Orientation and Instructions
10:15 - 11:30 AM - Sand and scrape bottoms, Clean topsides
11:30 AM - 12:30 PM - Clean/wipe down bottoms, compound topsides
12:30 - 1:30 PM - Finish prepping bottoms, Wax topsides
1:30 - 2:00 PM - Mask waterlines
2:00 - 2:45 PM - Paint
2:45 - 3:00 PM - Cleanup
On site training provided. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to learn in a fun and social atmosphere.
We will provide all materials and necessary safety equipment (masks, gloves, dust suits, ear protection, safety glasses). Feel free to bring some heavy work gloves, otherwise just dress to get dirty, bring a smile and maybe a friend!
Come on down Saturday, March 9th. This is the 1st of three dates total: there is a TON of work to accomplish but if the weather cooperates we can get the boats in early. With your support we can make 2019 a season to remember!
