HELM FOR HEROES CLINIC and REGATTA

PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION EVENT PAGE

This one-day event is designed to provide our military veterans the opportunity to learn the basics of sailing with their families and friends and then race in a family friendly and fun regatta setting.

All veterans are welcome to participate regardless of abilities or disabilities

Join the Downtown Sailing Center and Friends for a fun-filled day of sailing, fellowship, and friendly competition. The Clinic and Regatta will be hosted in our J/22, Sonar, and Freedom Independence 20 fleets. The Sonar and Freedom boats are adaptable for persons with physical disabilities and all of our boats are fun, fast, and competitive.

The Agenda for the Day is as follows:
  • 8AM-9AM Coffee Hour
  • 9AM-9:15 Registration
  • 9:15-9:45 Safety Briefing
  • 9:45-10AM Boat Prep and Loading
  • 10AM-Noon Lessons
  • Noon-1:30 Lunch
  • 1:30-4PM Racing
  • 4PM-4:30 Boat Clean-up
  • 5PM-6:30PM Post-Race Celebration and Awards
