2022 Ya Gotta Tri Volunteer Registration
Come out and help the Downtown Sailing Center host a successful Ya' Gotta Tri Spring Fundraiser on May 14, 2022! We need volunteer support for all aspects of the event. All volunteers are warmly invited to the After-Party too!
The goal of the 2022 Ya Gotta Tri is to bring the community together and raise money for the DSC's Youth Outreach and Accessible Sailing Programs.
The YGT will consist of three legs: bike, run, and sail/kayak. The sail/kayak leg will use the Access Dinghies and DSC kayaks.
Volunteers are needed for 3 main categories on the day of the event.
1. Event set up crew: 6:15AM-8:00AM
You will help with one or more of the following to ensure a successful event kick-off:
On the docks: Rig Access Dinghies and prep kayaks with seats and paddles
On land: Set up picnic tables, set up bike racks, directional road signs, Start/Finish line, set up registration table, food table, awards table
2. Race Committee and Party Crew: 7:00AM-10:00AM
You will oversee the running of the event itself and make sure everything goes smoothly and will assist with one or more of the following jobs:
On the docks: Help participants board their access dinghy or kayak, advise on safe watercraft operation, ensure life jackets are provided and worn.
We will need one or two individuals to drive the powerboats. They will assist boaters in need of advice or help, ensure safety on the course, and make sure participants have a positive experience.
On land: Sign in participants and pass out waivers and race materials, coordinate course during event, organize food table, awards table, and handouts.
3. Event Break Down Crew: 10:00AM-12:00PM
Help breakdown racks, clean up the signage and food area, de-rig access dinghies, and put away kayaks.
