Thursday Night Racing (TNR) at the DSC provides members with a way to build community and improve our sailing skills. It provides friendly competition on the DSC boats after a workday. We welcome new members to get involved and become exposed to the thrill of sailboat racing!
If you have never raced before, we recommend joining us first on a Friday Night Fun Race (FNFR) to see what it's all about. Beginners are welcomed at the fun races! The "Let's Go Sailing" Telegram group is a great way to find sailing buddies for these events (see Members Only->Member Forums for details on the Telegram groups).
The Thursday Night Racing series at the DSC generally runs from April through October, with first warning signal each night scheduled for 6pm. J/22 racing is open to members who have paid the Racing upgrade and formed teams. We highly suggest you form a team before paying the upgrade, as space is limited.
All racers are expected to volunteer throughout the year - skippers, please consider sharing your skills by volunteering as a coach at any of our Outreach, Adult Education, or Member Clinics, or skipper at Member Sails. Crew, we need your help too at the Outreach events and at work parties! And all are welcome to give back by joining a committee. Racers, like all members, are needed to volunteer at 8 events per year or by serving on a committee. See the Volunteer Page for lots more information on this!
