Recreational Sailing

Next Five Member Sails

Baltimore's Inner Harbor is ideal for day sailing. On most summer afternoons the city generates its own breeze on the harbor, which is protected from waves or rough seas. For a little more wind, you can explore beyond Ft. McHenry to the Key Bridge. All Skipper and Crew level members can enjoy weekly recreational sails from late April through the end of October.

Member Sails, Wednesday Evenings and Sunday Afternoons

Sail with us! Skipper and Crew level sailors meet on the docks and then set off sailing toward the Inner Harbor, Fort McHenry, or even the Key Bridge where F.S. Key penned our National Anthem. The J/22s and Sonars fill first and our Cruising Skippers are active in taking the cruising boats out. Access dinghies are available for those who have attended an Access dinghy orientation.

Member sails are a great way to enjoy a relaxing evening on the water. But relaxing doesn't mean lazy! As part of the DSC community, you will gain experience and build your skills. Wednesday Sails run from 5:30 PM - Sunset and Sunday Sails start and noon and wrap up at 4 PM. Registration is required so we can make sure we have adequate numbers of skippers and crew.

Registration for DSC Socials

Register for the Social so we can count on you! Socials are fun, family oriented, and a great way to enjoy friends, new and old! DSC Socials are open to the public but we are focused on providing a family friendly atmosphere. Socials are BYOB events and all dock & sailing policies still apply. Click on a Social below to register as an attendee or as a volunteer, and we can't wait to sail and hang with you!

Boat Reservations

Skipper members can reserve boats online for up to 4 hours at a time. Bring your friends and family for a wonderful sail in the Inner Harbor on a Sunday afternoon. Being a skipper gives you the freedom to sail whenever you want! For more information about reserving boats, check out our FAQ page. For more information about Membership and pricing, click HERE.

Weather Policy

DSC boats are not permitted to leave the docks if there is a threat of lightning or if there is extreme weather in the vicinity or if a Gale Warning has been issued for the area. The DSC community expects sailors to exercise good judgement and prudence.
