With COVID-19, The DSC cannot justify hosting a party on land. In an effort to create opportunity out of challenge, The DSC is encouraging ALL SAILORS to get involved with the Ya Gotta Regatta and just go sailing.
The YGR Pursuit race will feature three classes for different types of boats: Cruiser, Non-Spin, and Spinnaker. Teams can choose to race/cruise in the class that is most appealing to them.
Each Class will be notified of its class on the morning of the event based on the expected weather conditions. The Race Committee will select the course that is most likely to enable boats to finish between 4:30PM and 6PM, with a race start time of noon(ish).
The excitement of Pursuit starts is boats should all finish at roughly the same time: A J/22 may battle a Farr 30 and a Frers 36 at the finish line! All race starts will occur in the vicinity of FM. All but the shortest course will have the race finish in front of The DSC. Race documents are posted below.
No PHRF Certificate? No Problem. The DSC will assign you a rating based upon your boat info. This is a fun regatta, after all, and all proceeds go to support The DSC's community sailing efforts to make sailing accessible for everyone!
