SAIL FOR KIDS FUNDRAISER EXCEEDS GOALS!

The Third Annual Sail for Kids Fundraiser Celebration met the Downtown Sailing Center’s fundraising goal of $50,000 – and exceeded it by raising $52,000.

Our thanks go out to the more than 300 people who gathered Saturday, July, 11, for the party, proceeds from which will sponsor the Sailing Center’s 2010 outreach programs. Click here for some great photos of the event.

Following the BCYA- and MRSA-sponsored Race to Baltimore, revelers came to feast on pit beef and potato salad, drink beer, dance, participate in a rain gutter regatta and bid on our fabulous, 60-item strong silent auction, which raised over $6,000.

Every summer at the DSC, more than 1,500 children from Baltimore City get to experience Baltimore from a whole new perspective -- the water. The Downtown Sailing Center strives to instill the values of responsibility and teamwork through sailing programs that are available to disadvantaged and at-risk youth, whether able-bodied or disabled.

Your donations to the event make a difference in the lives of the children who come to the DSC to learn to sail and we thank you for them.

The wonderful sponsors that make our outreach programs possible include:
