  • BCYA, BCSC, CBYRA, and others! We're delighted to have you aboard!

Have you ever been in a protest situation on or off the racecourse?

Do you avoid racing because you don't want to end up wasting your night arguing about who's more right?

Do you love graph paper? Have you ever fouled another boat?

If you answered 'yes' to any of the above questions, then please attend the first of (hopefully) multiple racing-themed lectures, this one focused on "The Room!" No, this is not focused on mark roundings but rather on the necessary evil called the "Protest Hearing."

Learn about what to do when you foul a boat; how to build your case; the requirements for protests and protest hearings; how to select witnesses; how to prepare your presentation; and how to win (and lose) with dignity.

It's all brought to you by Jeff Borland, certified match racing and team racing judge for ISAF and ICSA. Jeff recently helped his EYC team reach their goals at the prestigious Hinman Masters and umpired at this past year's ICSA Team Race Championships with only on-the-water calls issued by judges.

We are excited to offer this opportunity at no cost to you, though we encourage you to participate in our annual Ya Gotta Regatta Fundraiser and Regatta through fundraising efforts.
